Upside down ? when pasting from Word.

Postby Adam Kouwenberg » March 13th, 2009, 5:17 pm

A common issue people have when pasting comments and such into BCeSIS from Microsoft Word is the appearance of upside down question marks ¿ .

I have created a brief tutorial on how to resolve it.

Simply go to the "Tools Menu" - "Auto-Correct Options" and disable the references to "Smart Quotes". This will disable the 66 and 99 style quotes and apostrophes and keep them as straight up and down lines (||). If you have a document saved with their comments, then you will likely need to do a Find and Replace on your quotes to reset them to the Straight Quotes style.

Alternatively, post from notepad to BCESIS without having to modify anything.

Google Docs to BCESIS works great too.
